dfw puppies

Yawn. Jer's 7:45 am waking up is tiring. But hey his temp is normal!!! It was up to 103.8 underarm yesterday afternoon so I'm just a little relieved. Still have not decided if we are going tonight. I'm going to see how he does through the day and all. Marisa came by last night, she was looking at some house rentals on our street & one over-and her husband was playing hockey. It was nice to meet her and get to talk for awhile. Even if I am super shy. I'll get over it, and I wasn't as quiet as I would be if I didn't know her some. heh. Oh yeah but I just came here to post something my friend I worked with sent me, it's for anyone in DFW about some puppies she has to give away. Want one? email me if you want to contact her. (Note: The rest of this entry is not from my POV heh)

A couple months back my dad was walking around on his job (construction stuff ya know) and found a medium sized, short haired female dog, who was in really bad shape. She was extremely underweight and all muddy with a bad case of ticks and fleas. The people (management) on his job took her in and named her Suzy. She's now much happier, well fed and has a nice safe, warm and dry job trailer to sleep in at night and all the attention she could want. Taking her to the vet they found out she was pregnant, and it appears her owners abandoned her on the street when they found out. Anyhow she had the puppies a couple of weeks ago, 4 boys and 3 girls if I remember right.

So here's the problem. It's great having Suzy as a job dog, but of course it wouldn't be safe or practical for the puppies to stay on the job ( the whole pack thing and one dog compared to 8 is a big difference on a job sight especially with city code violations and such). The puppies are adorable, some are chocolate colored, a few are a creamy tan color with light blonde facial markings, and one we've nicknamed pudge is splotched with both colors and some light brown and black. The mom is medium sized and the dr. says it appears the pups will be roughly the same. The mom has a great temperment, super friendly so I'm sure the pups will be close to the same. They are short haired as well and pretty much heinz 57 as far as breed.

I know I know, I could just take them to the pound. But I've worked in a rescue group and I know that puppies, especially mixed breeds hardly ever get adopted and if they do they are usually returned in a few months. That and the pound is a horrible place at any rate, much less to start your life out there. Please do me a favor and ask around for anyone who could give one of these lil' ones a good home.

Apartment or house either is fine, whichever, just be sure their rental aggreement says they can have a dog.
