the parents meeting

I have emails to reply to but im afraid to (even tho my virus program scans all outgoing mail) because my weekly scan last night found some trojans. They came in via kazaa/jasons downloads but I don't know anything about them so I'm not going to risk it. I'll just have to watch over AIM for Marisa, or call her later. Maybe. Hey I called her last week without hesitation. Ok, so calling to a cell phone is easy because *most* of the time you KNOW you will get the person you want to reach. I like that.

The parents meeting was good last night. They had lots of yummy deserts & coffee. We got Root Beers but it made me sick so Jas had two and I had water. The director talked a little bit about Montessori and some of what they wanted to do at the school as far as what Maria Montessori discovered/wrote. And then they had a slide show of the kids in the classroom over the past 2.5 weeks which was really cool to see Jer doing his peg work (lol jason was like "playing with sticks"). Then the upper elm teacher (actually they call them guides, but im soooo traditional classroom focused that i don't think that way automatically) got up & talked some about the fundraisers & stuff for this year. And then they gave us parents time to sign up for volunteer stuff & go to the classrooms to look around and ask questions and stuff. When I was signing up I was like, Ok what requires the least amount of people(stranger really) interaction/phone calls especially AND driving since I currently don't have a license & know I won't have a car even when I get one. I am such a loner. He asked if I was good on a computer/typing and so I signed up for helping with the program for the auction. See the fundraiser stuff is a raffle/auction dinner dance/golf-a-thon so there are a lot of things that parents have to help out with. I am pretty good at typing, even with a nursing child in my lap, plus I live down the street from the school-people so that'll help if I have to get something from them or bring them something or whatever. I also signed up to help with making classroom materials (doesn't that sound like fun?) and for the Garden Party in November-the outside playarea is pretty plain right now. Not like the kids care much, going outside is exciting!

So yeah I guess thats it. Oh I got to see some of Jer's favorite "work" I love it when he says he plays his work, it's too cute. I better go Kier keeps climbing into my lap then crying and getting down. I have an appointment this morning, so check my pg diary later (probably much later) today.
